Marks on Papers and Community

On July 18, at the picturesque Alyarz Leisure Club in Baabda, the Alyarz Benevolent Association (ABA) hosted a workshop brimming with artistic expression and community spirit. This event, organized by Abwab Beirut, ABA’s affiliated volunteer program, offered an afternoon filled with creativity from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Attendees immersed themselves in painting sessions, exploring their inner artists and bringing their visions to life with a stroke of a brush. For those with a keen interest in religious art, the iconography station offered a unique opportunity to learn and practice the traditional techniques of creating sacred images. Another highlight was the dot mandala, where participants created mesmerizing patterns using dotting techniques, an activity known for relaxation, meditation, concentration, and personal expression.

The students who participated in the workshop were invited along with their parents to lunch, after which they enjoyed swimming and having fun before engaging in the workshop activities, making it a well-rounded day of enjoyment and creativity.

Beyond the enriching artistic experience, this event held a deeper significance. All proceeds from the workshop were directed to ABA to support the “ABA Educates” project. This noble initiative is dedicated to providing educational support for children in need, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities to build a brighter future and attain their ambitions.

The Alyarz Benevolent Association strives to foster togetherness, empowering members to support one another and contribute positively to society, building a brighter future for all. The association has long been committed to creating a vibrant community with accessible education, environmental sustainability, and personal growth opportunities for everyone. The “ABA Educates” project is a testament to their ongoing efforts. By participating in this workshop, attendees not only discovered the marvelous world of creativity and indulged in artistic activities but also contributed to a meaningful cause, making a difference in the lives of many children. Abwab Beirut, founded under the umbrella of ABA after the Beirut Port Explosion in August 2020, makes and sells handcrafted décor and hand-painted art to support ABA initiatives with the help of community volunteers. This particular workshop was another step in their ongoing efforts to engage the community and support meaningful causes.

The choice of Alyarz Leisure Club as a venue for the workshop added an extra layer of charm to the event. Known for its serene environment and amazing landscapes, the club provided the perfect setting for an afternoon of imagination and tranquility. The serene ambiance of Yarzeh, coupled with the expressive atmosphere of the workshop, promised a memorable experience that will be engraved in the memory of all involved.

As the event unfolded, excitement and anticipation built among participants and organizers alike. The workshop was not only an opportunity to learn and create but also a chance to come together, united under a shared purpose: changing children’s lives!

Thank you to everyone who joined from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and made their mark on both the papers and the community.
